I did it...on my own...a number of years ago. Looking back, it just gave me permission to over indulge in carbs, not what *my* body needs.
About 9 years ago, my eating was out of control, dud mostly to pasta, bread and rice binges. I found a "diet" based on the premise of not mixing carbs(starchy plant based) with fats (all animal products...meat, fish, dairy etc). This is because carbohydrates stimulate the body's insulin response which in turn causes the body to store fat. I lost 1.5 stone in 3 months and ate plenty. I still follow the same principles. It works for me. You need to find what suits you.
As for keto, if you're not already low carb you get something called the keto flu. It's mostly down to electrolytes depletion. Eating no junk or processed food often means consuming less salt. But, maybe it just didn't suit you.
