You should get the chip fixed before it turns in to a crack. A lot of the time it is free (but you will need to check your insurance) to have a chip mended but you will have to pay the excess on a crack.
I had a little chip on my windscreen.

Doing 70mph down the M3 a pidgeon flew into my windscreen nowhere near the chip, the windscreen cracked from top to bottom through the small chip.

Take Milly's advice and get it done now.

Thanks for you responses! They are coming out on Wednesday to do it for me. Got a feeling they will have to replace it and this is going to cost me 60 pound excess as the chip is a little bigger than a five pence piece. How much would a windscreen cost to buy? Thanks again!
Hi
you don't mention the car make model,
if it has heated screen etc,
I asked for my MK4 Golf with no special features and they quoted about 450 quid!!! My excess is 75 which when you think about it is nothing really.

its a m-reg corsa
A lot more than 50.00 . I think I am correct in saying that this does not affect your non claim bonus so go through your insurance company, the windscreen company must be recognised by your insurance company to do the repair give your insuarnce company a ring tomorrow.

I had a crack down the middle of my windscreen ('51 plate Corsa) and it only cost me 50 to have the windscreen replaced (Co-operative insurance excess). I used the online form on a Friday night, their call centre phoned me back on the Saturday morning and the van came to my house on the Sunday afternoon to do the job. Great service!
