Lots of different types of tea are drunk in Japanese restaurants, even chinese types.  The difference between the two is that many chinese teas are roasted and fermented whereas the japanese steam and dont ferment.
my mate's got loads of green tea, bought it in bulk as it's suposed to be healthy for you, and good for keeping your body streamline.  Also good for bodybuilding in the right circumstances.  He's got about 200 one KG tubs, uncapped! Nutter! Anyone know someone who'd like to buy/ lol
