Latest figures today show a 15% decrease in jobs in the City. Some may jump for joy and laugh, but the laughter will be short lived when they see that it is ordinary people on ordinary salaries with very modest bonuses(if any).
The Banking industry actually generates the wealth of this country, like it or not. If we continue to bash it and scare the Bankers away what will UK PLC live on?
And whilst on the subject of Banks, we get Milliband banging on about legislation on Retail/Investment Banks. Does he not realize that if ringfenced the Retail Banking sector will need to charge for current accounts? Are even left wing militant ABers happy to pay a monthly fee on their account or will you bleat about that when it happens too?

Thats not the fault of the ordinary banker but his company have ensured that people are flocking away from the high street banks in droves and going to places like Nationwide wher free banking and services are given and are not whacked for going into the red occasionally. something to be said for mutuals where the bank is owned by its customers not shareholders.
