my partner gets £150 pm annuity pension .dwp have decided to reduce our weekly benefit by £35.previously I had phoned while this was being sorted out and was told that anything under £85 would not been taken into account.this means he has worked for nothing.can this be right .tiax

It's probably right, although I'm not sure exactly how ESA works. unfortunately small pensions are not worth having if you are going to get benefits. I've seen people with small private pensions being no better off because pension credit is then reduced. I suppose the argument is that benefits are a safety net to bring you to a certain level. Otherwise someone with a pension of say £200000 could also claim ESA.
