Define "most well off".
It is is millionaires then you would expect that.
Some people spend more on a car than others spend on a house.
There has always been rich and poor and there always will be.
However the "poor" are probably far better off now than the poor were 50 or 100 years ago.
What do you suggest, drag everyone down to the poor level?
That is a typical labour / socialist answer.
It is "the rich" that generate wealth and create and run the businesses that keep this country going.
