You used to be able to purchase a book which listed Sort codes numerically and told you which bank it was.

I am not sure if they still do this, but you could try your local library.
Whats wrong with Offshore accounts ?, they are perfectly legitimate and many hundreds of thousands of people have one - myself included.

Thanks for the responses. While UK sortcodes are intersting, I am actually after offshore account details. Does anyone know where I can find these?

It's my preferrence not to trust people with offshore accounts - it's my money/products that I am risking. Sorry if you're offended by that.

No offence taken and of course it is your right not to accept payment from anyone you choose. (Although it's a shame for the people who actually live offshore in Jersey/Guernsey/IOM and have no choice but to hold accounts there).

In answer to your questions, UK offshore accounts in sterling are exactly the same as the ones down your local highstreet. They use sortcodes which can be found in a sortcode book (updated yearly) and you can presumably purchase it online.

There is no way to identify them apart from sort code as they utilise 8 digit account numbers and 6 digit sort codes as normal.
