First Time Buyer
2 Answers
Me and my partner are in the process of buying our first home together. I was just wondering if anyone has a rough idea of the timelines from having an offer on a house accepted to the mortgage app being accepted, then from having the mort app accepted to exchange and then finally completion? Hope someone can help me? Thanks.

Then the mortgage company will only need to be satisfied that the property is worth the mortgage advance.
Then when you have your offer accepted by the vendor, it can be completed by six weeks, although 10 weeks is more typical.

normally it should take 6- 8 weeks, only if you dont go through a broker - big mistake we made it was like the whole world was against us having this house, we knew it was right as soon as we walked in to it so we stuck by it our mortgage broker kept on messing things up changing lenders to suit us which we didnt want as we were happy with the first offer then they changed us and they took3 weeks before they did the searches any way it took us 14 weeks to complete from the 4th august when i first put in an offer and it was accepted straight away up intill the 10th november we got the keys and after all this we were up all night on that friday packing and moved in on the saturday - if you think you are going to have loads of problems just stick by it and it will come your way if its meant to be also a really good thing we did, when we first went to see the house we exchanged phone numbers to keep upto date with all progress on all sides thank you i hope this helps and sorry for the long story i just need to warn people about broker they are rubbish
