proof of signature

An ex partner transfered his property into my sole name on the condition I paid his exsisting mortage off which i did. he also gave me a letter he signed saying he was selling it me for x amount of pounds. (Considerably cheaper than the property was worth). After a few months he decided he wanted to come back to me which I flatly refused as I have now met someone else. Since then I have had nothing but harassment from him, including having him cautioned under the police harasment act. He is now trying to put a charge on my property as I now want to sell it. I am fighting him thru solicitors at the Land Registry. He is now saying on his statement to the LR that I forged his signature on the letter he gave me and if I deny it he will have no option but to get it checked by an expert. Thats fine by me as he 100+% signed it. Does anyone know what the LR will do regarding this accussation. Im hoping they will check it out, see that he is lying and not le him put a charge on my property.
