Bank charges no longer joint account

My husband and I separated over a year ago we had to go into Bank and sign form to allow my name to be taken off our joint account. Husband still uses same account and I have advised him to claim back charges over these last 6 years if he is successful then I will get some of the money,,,,But will they pay him out although it is no longer a joint account

From what i've read about it if it is still an active account the money will just be paid into the account in question.
