Can a collections company call years after the original creditor has lost contact and demand $100 per month and nothing less on a $500 credit or they will take me to court? I proposed $50 - $75 but was turned down and told that I have 2 days to make a payment of $100 and nothing less or they will serve me with papers. Any amount under $100 will be rejected and sent back to me. Can they do this? What are my options or rights in this matter?
