Owing to unemployment I defaulted payments with three companies. I subsequently paid them in full. One company details show my credit as zero (a green zero in a box) the remaining two companies show the debt as satisfied but with a red 8 in the box. My question is as all companies have been paid and I owe nothing should I not have a pretty green zero and not a horrid red eight? Do I ask the companies to amend the experian records or do I ask experian to amend my credit score regarding the two companies?

If you have defaulted on a credit agreement then your credit file should show (for that company) an 8. The one showing a green zero has reported incorrect information (but I wouldnt recommend asking for it to be corrected otherwise will show adverse credit).
The 8 will remain on your credit file for up to 6 six years, however as it is settled, this will go in your favour compared to an 8 (default) that remains unsettled).
It is still assessed as being adverse credit, future creditors will be able to tell the amount of the original default together with the date...but will also be able to tell that it was settled.
