I have an account with the Halifax, my boss banks with HSBC and they put my wages on their systemon the 25th to reach my accont on the 28th of the month, the wages did not show up on my account on the 28th and Halifax paid my DD's out over the weekend thus incurring an unauthorised overdraft and bank charges at 30 per DD who is responsible for the bank charges as i feel that i have been unfairly treated by the HSBC and the Halifax.
Assuming it's this weekend just past you are talking about, you could argue it's your boss, for not realising the 28th was a Saturday and that your account could not be credited on the due date. Most companies pay a day early in these circumstances, though I'm not sure they are obliged to.
If this is the first time this has happened to you, phone your bank and ask if they will waiver the charges on this occasion. You must make a mental note of the day at the end of each month and allow for weekends. (Provided that the company always process their wages on the same day, as most do.)
This may sound harsh but the responsibility is all yours, if you run your finances so that a small delay in wages going into your account will mean a DD is refused you need to take appropriate steps to make sure there is always money to cover any in the event of problems.
