How do I change my name on property deeds?
1 Answers
I bought my house with my husband before we married and the deeds were registered in my maiden name. Now we have married I would like to know if I need to tell the land registry I have changed my name and if so how I do it.
We are thinking of moving house in the next year or so, is it better to wait until then and get a solicitor to do the change as part of the conveyancing or will this cause additional problems/delays?

It should be as simple as completing the correct form and returning it with a copy of your marriage certificate. There may be a small fee. Far far better to do it now.
