When I retired from my job I was 56 yrs. old and rolled over my 401K into a variable annuity. I did this to prevent any penalty. Now I am informed that if I was 55 at time of retirement I could withdraw monies from my account without penalty. Does this still apply to the fact that I rolled it over to annuity? Can I withdraw monies now and not pay penalty. Or will I be penalized for the 10% Thank you.
