my wife and i have both got the same basic tax code of 647L. does this mean that neither of us gets a married couples allowance

next i need to complete online assessment for tax on renting property

There's no such thing, David. Must be 15 or so years ago since it disappeared.

Not quite true buildersmate - if one of you is over 75 and you meet certain other conditions then there is still such an allowance

But for non-wrinklies - no such allowance
