I have to have three more weeks of radiotherapy, daily from Monday to Friday. I have been told that I need to buy myself some Factor 50 suntan/protector. It should not have any metals in it I have been told because of the radiotherapy I am receiving. Does anyone know please which brand I should buy?

Thank you all for your kind answers. I'll have a look at your link Quassia. I went into a Boots chemist today and asked the pharmacist which one I should use. I was disappointed that she didn't know which one to recommend. It wasn't an enormous Boots, but I just thought that the pharmacist there would know straight away. I am feeling so very, very sleepy all the time. May end up just sleeping it off most of the day and night. :-)
Oh lovely to hear from kind people such as yourselves. My name is Moyra and my profile picture is a little inaccurate. Sorry I haven't got a more recent one to use, but will do soon. I now have my hair back ...though it's short and my eyelashes have regrown too. This is a wonderful thing as eyelashes are essential to keep our eyes healthy. :-)
I know some people suffer when having radiotherapy, I found it no problem at all after having 8 lots of chemotherapy. I know when I had radiotherapy they recommended putting aqueous cream on the area involved. I still use it to this day after 9 years. I had stage 3 cancer and lost my breast and, touch wood, still keeping well. Just remember to drink a lot of water and eat well and you will be fine AyromGrob. Good luck, keep well.
Hi AryomGrob
I've searched and searched and think I've fouind one. Most sun screens, even the most natural ones contained zinc oxide or alluminium, but I think this one looks to be OK. Being a bit of an eco-warrior, i have used green tea products before and they are extremely good at protecting us naturally.

I do hope its helped and you can just press "buy now" to have it delivered to your door in a day or two.
I wish you all the best for your treatment and a speedy recovery.

Hello ... I've had more than a bit of bad news. I found a lump in my neck last week and had a biopsy done on it. The result is...I now have breast cancer in the lymph glands in my neck, on my 'good' side. I am to have a full body scan, will get results of that on 28th July. This will then be followed by between six and nine months of weaker chemotherapy, to be taken in tablet form. I am only to have one more radiotherapy session as that is now not helping. The sort of cancer I have begins with 'adeno' not sure of the correct name for it, but it's apparently about 1 to 2% of breast cancers. I'm very tired after all the radiotherapy, so not feeling as positive as I should be. I now have a large lump in my neck which has developed just in the last week. I will go along with what the doctors offer, but think that prayer is equally important to me now. Will keep in touch through Answerbank. Moyra
