I have a £200 overdraft, paid in a cheque for £70 that hasn't cleared yet, balance is -£123 but a cheque for £10 has been paid today and it shows the amount available is -£202, so are they counting the uncleared £70 off the overdraft?
What I mean is will I have to shoot down the bank to pay in the extra £2 and hope they haven't returned the £10 cheque, or will I be ok till payday tomorrow?
I had a look at the website and it appears they also have a 'reserve limit' facility - where they decide how much over the overdraft limit they will let you go to pay an item that takes you over the limit. As this is only a couple of quid I am hoping that they haven't returned the item. Pay day tomorrow!
If you have internet banking you should be able to extend your overdraft and it will go into your account immediately. Might not make a difference now but it might be handy in future.
