Email Scam.

Hi, received an email message yesterday from 'Santander' suggesting for security, I would have to register some details and should I ignore their request, future logging on would be blocked. Obviously not genuine. There were 5 spelling/grammar errors in the 4 line message. Don't even have any accounts with them now!!

That is worrying. So many people could be taken in by it.

Yes. You certainly need to be vigilant when receiving so called bank emails. It was the spelling & grammar that made me more suspicious. I will never answer emails from banks or similar establishments. They have my postal address if they want to get in touch.

I've had a couple asking me to confirm bank details from Barclays. Never had an account with them so didn't even open it. Despicable barstewards.

Me too. I have had several supposedly from different Banks. I just delete them, but I admit that the first one I had was from the Bank I deal with and I started filling out the form they sent until the bit where they wanted my pin number. I got out of there pretty quick and contacted my Bank to change my credit card right away, which they did. Never again!! I wrote a scathing email to the perpetrators screaming at them (theoretically) if they thought I was going to give ANYONE my pin number they must be pretty stupid (although at that time it was me who was the stupid one.

forward it to [email protected], then delete it from your inbox. I'm doing this all the time. I haven't even got a santander account.

All these scams seem to be on the increase. I have had numous emails claiming to be Paypal, Banks etc etc. They do look genuine but never seem quite right. Unfortunately how many poor suckers have they scammed and got money out of.

if in doubt, all of them have a phishing email address on their websites. I've forwarded a few which have turned out to be genuine, but better to be safe than sorry.

I had phone call and text saying the same thing, which was good as I have never had a account with them, when I sent email asking how they got my mobile number I was told I had to ring them to tell them!!
