bank's mistake?

Recently noticed �2000 that had been paid out of my account for a purchase reappeared.Company to which money is owed have received payment. Is there a period of time by which if this is not noticed that i can keep this or should I contact the bank...... dont want to break the law

Well, Trillipse, it's certainly not illegal and sounds as though it's within the terms of the agreement that you (yes you) signed. If you didn't agree with it at the time, don't sign it.

Generally things that we don't understand are labelled as wrong. It's easier than taking the time and effort to understand them.

Next the National Lottery will be complaining about a lotto winner who bought a ticket and hit the jackpot. "But he only spent �1 and won �7 million. Surely that's wrong?"

stevie, sorry - you've misunderstood me. i was being sarcastic about the nature of right and wrong as viewed from mfewell's standpoint. rather a flippant couple of comments. i do comprehend that people enter into contracts with financial institutions, in case you are under any misapprehension of my implied naivete... :-) nonetheless, thankyou for your concern.

would like to tank everybody for their help with "bank's mistake"..... unfortunately the after calling the bank i was not rewarded for my honesty but i made my mother smile!!!
