My daughter is flitting off to Australia in November and I think it would be prudent of her to have a credit card for emergencys... she's adamant she doesn't want one.. but I wondered is there one with no monthly charges for a zero balance/paid off every month.. not much of a 'money man' kinda gal but I don't want her to get roped in to monthly fees for something she's not using.... any advice would be appreciated... thanks
I didn`t think any of them charge for zero balances/paid off every month. Much as I dislike Santander, their Zero card is what I have because it doesn`t have any loading fees. If you look on moneysupermarket or google, you will find others that don`t (Post Office I think, among others). You need to look at the small print though because most cards have a dormant fee that they charge if the card isn`t used for a certain amount of time (6 or 12 months, I can`t remember)
Thanks for your answers... might nip in to Abbey tomorrow to see what's what... blimey.. the girl is 18 and should be doing this to prep herself for all eventuality's whilst being so far from home... note to 24 year old self..'never have children'....
