I just happened to see a message in my eBay that had not come into my normal emails. I sold a mobile phone and charger for £3.10 two months ago and had good feedback. Buyer now says he has just used it and something wrong in games and it didn't hold the charge and can he return it for a refund. I am going to say yes as it is such a small amount of money. But why didn't he try it before leaving feedback and is it wrapping it up and going to the post office for £3! I haven't done anything yet so I would see if anyone else has any thoughts on this.

You have to start a dispute (buyer or seller) within 45 days of the auction ending. That time has now passed. Don't refund.

I wouldn't give him a refund. I had a similar prob when I sold a portable DVD player, it was virtually new and perfect working order when it left me. The buyer took it into a tv shop to get a lead for it, then got in touch with me a month later saying it didn't work. I believe the shop damaged it. I ignored his request.

I wouldn't refund, not after two months, and not for that price - however, sometimes just for goodwill I have given a refund, it's not worth arguing about. However - I don't refund return postage. This one I think I would argue about, since he's had two months already to check it.

There is now an option on listings for you to state whether or not you give refunds - might be worth looking at for next time.

Lol lol don't you just love the cheek of some buyers though, I mean would you be bothered for 3quid. I bought some bed sheets 2weeks ago for a fiver each brand new, but they are rubbish. I just binned them.
I'd leave poor feedback if they are not as expected, sammy, but I wouldn't bin anything - I'd give it to the charity shop. Someone can use them.

Kathyan I didn't know that so will ignore the email. He sent it on 4 March and hasn't asked again. Thank you to everyone who has answered as it is interesting to know it happens to others.
