I have just been told by RBS that I have won my claim for PPI for an old Lombard Direct loan I had. I fell into arrears with this loan but the PPI I have won will be enough to clear the debt. My slight concern is that Lombards debts were taken over by a company called Idem capital securities, and over the last couple of years my payments have been going to them via Stepchange. I am assuming that RBS will use the PPI money to clear all the debt I owe them before they give anything left over to me. However the account number with Idem and the account number I had with Lombard are completley different. Also, Idem are the one's who show up on my credit report, not RBS, indicating that the money should be going to Idem. Is this the case? Should I call Idem or Stepchange to let them know what is going on? I'm slightly worried that if RBS keep all the money that I owe them, the debt will still show on my credit report with Idem securities. Hope all that makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help.

I imagine that RBS know all of this otherwise they wouldn't know you're in arrears, so there must have been communication between them and whoever holds your loan.

To put your mind at rest, ring them.
