I could pay money into my own account, or into anyone else's bank account, simply by going into any High Street bank and filling in a 'bank giro credit' form. Alas, despite so-called 'progress', that facility was withdrawn many years ago, so your father will need to visit a branch of your bank. (Theoretically it's still possible to use any other bank branch but there's a hefty charge, typically of around 30 quid, to do so).
Some inter-bank transfers can be achieved simply by visiting any Post Office branch but, while it's possible for your father to both withdraw and pay in money using his own account at any Post Office (because he's with Lloyds), it's not possiblwe to pay into a Nationwide account there (even though you can withdraw money there yourself).

And no stamped paper record to keep in your records aside from what you print put yourself and which could so could easily have been forged. "Trust us we use tech. We'll always show the right figures". Except my salary for this month was magically different on the Friday than it was Wednesday when I double checked just prior to complaining to the company HR dept..
Since the figure shown was changed rather than additional payment shown, I don't see how it could be anything else. But the main issue is not whether one has experienced problems already, it's whether the system is so bad one does not have ones own paper records to prove what goes on. One is at the bank's mercy, the same bank that is forcing a risky system in the first place. And that's before we even consider contactless tech !
He can do what they call a quick transfer, the money is usually in the receiving bank account within a couple of hours. This is a free transfer. I do it regularly. All he needs is your account details, name of Bank, Sort Code number and account number and possibly role number if you have one, but that won't be necessary.
I don't know about Lloyds, but my bank (HSBC) has an express banking machine. Using my bank card I can set up a payment to anyone using the recipient's sort code and account number. The money is transferred immediately and there is no cost. There is a limit, though, of £10,000 per transaction for family and friends.
erm hey what is all this ?
I went into my own bank BOS - the one I usually use
and waved my debit card
and said I dont do home baking (!) because I have been cloned
but I would like to pay from my account into someone elses
and here are the details ( checked carefully beforehand )
and I plugged in my card
and whizzo .....
so it is like paying with a debit card but you do it at a bank
