Do you mean, can you have current accounts with different banks?
I've never heard that you can't have more than one current account but will stand corrected.............I'm often wrong lol.
Yes you can. I have 4 current accounts. I used to have one with Santander and 2 others but I cancelled the Santander one when they started charging me for not paying in enough each month.
I wouldnt go near Santander - I am an old All Leics pass book holder and they just look on us as a pain in the arras

considering we pay their wages

The CEO is svelte Spanish woman - wizz a huge annual income - and her tip for the top ? free current accounts have had their day....

well - she clearly expects more and better Cava at shareholder meetings innit ?
I LOVE Santander. I get around £55 a month back in interest and credit for using direct debit - that's after the £2 a month charge.

I also have a current account with Nationwide
Yes. I do. But for the attractive 123 account you need to pay in at least £500 per month and have at least 2 DDs

My salary gets paid in to my Nationwide account and I transfer £500 by standing order every month
Yes I have,
Of course you can, you can have Current Accounts with as many Banks as you like.

Whether it's worth your while is another question.
I have current acounts wth three banks (including Santander) and all pay me better interest than I can get in a savings account or bond.

You can get round the deposit restriction by setting up "round robin" payments. (Pay £500 from Bank A to Bank B on 1st of the month; pay £500 from Bank B to Bank C on 3rd of the month; pay £500 from Bank C to Bank A on 5th of the month). The bank's computer does not care where it comes from or goes.
Yes, of course you can . Many years ago banks used to frown upon customers who had accounts in more than one bank. Santander have a good deal going with their 123 account which , if you meet the criteria, give a better return than some ISAs
yes I'm happy with Santander 123 - it is giving me far far better interest than the ISA which was paying 0.5% - nothing.

I would certainly say you can have as many current accounts - it's your business and nobody else's
