As I said., once your wife is back take her, her passport and the letter from the DWP to the nearest Jobcenter and show them the documents. Ask the manager to verify that your wife is back in the UK by writing or phoning the office that asked for proof. They can use their own internal phone network to do it which is better proof than using a normal phone line. Job center staff are a lot more 'on the ball' than the head office staff !
back in the UK - easy I would have thought - take her down to the local DWP and say - "this is me mam"
OK you are disabled so send her alone
proof of residence - more difficult as I imagine you are gonna say she doesnt have a job ...
whatever you do -dont say to them - I cant show you she has returned to the UK as she is currently on her holz in France.
that will cause long term doo-doo
I mean they have a point dont they ?
you are trying to show she is resident here when she is currently on her holz in france......

oh yeah that is what I wanted to say ...
The DWP have a do-once-and-share scheme / system so that once you have visited them once the info is disseminated on all the computer systems
techno geek - they have got all their computer to hand-shake - at long last
this works quite well - even the clerk was surprised that my visit from three days previously had all the info I had presented ... I was astonished myself
