Did I do something really stupid tonight or was it kindness. I went to Asda to look for a microwave (today at about 6.00pm) - the front of Asda was thronged with people and one lady thinnish about over 60 and was lightheartedly complaining to me "oh I think this hole in the wall isn't working it never is" - oh I just nodded and went on into Asda.
Coming back out with no microwave the lady came over to me and said "oh I was right the thing wasn't working so now I have to walk to the next mall"
I offered a lift in my car to the mall. On hindsight was I stupid, careless or kind - she did have a wee drink on her so don't think she could have done me any harm. However had to run downstairs there and check had I still my debit card but I had. Would you have given her a lift. - by the way she did NOT ask for a lift - I proffered. Just your opinions.
I wouldn't have offered her a lift. I've had someone open my car door at a junction asking for a lift to the next village. She'd had a drink on her, too. I said no.
Well then Jack - the debit card was inside my purse - so it could have been the purse as I am extremely careless re that matter.
But the card 16 digit number can be used and so things can be bought.
As I was scammed some years back when the 16 digit card was used for
a weekend for 10 people in a local hotel
bought machinery for cars
and phone bills
All came to £700 - they just phoned the large number over the phone - no they didn't have the card - but a "worker" we found out in a local garage when he was swiping my card took note of the number and used it. Police was involved. But must say Santander paid it back for gods sake.
