Best Place To Sell Silver Jewelry?

Good afternoon. I have 2 silver items, 1 bracelet weighing 198 grams and a necklace weighing 568 grams. Total 766 grams and 25 ounces or so.

I took these to a pawn shop and they offered me something like £130 to pawn and the same to sell which i politely declined as they seem to be mugging people off with these prices.

I've just looked online and it appears that silver at the moment is £14.441 per ounce and £0.4637 per gram you can also buy a whole kilo ingot for roughly £523 or so.

My question is what is my silver worth, where can i get the best price for it asap?

Go to a reputable local jeweller. I sold several family heirlooms this way recently. The items were weighed and l got good prices.

A pawn shop will only pay 1/2 the actual value so £130 seems about what you would expect. A 'proper' scrap dealer such as the one on my link will give a sensible offer.

Are they just solid silver? or do they have stones? Are they hallmarked?

Sometimes, selling as an item is better than selling for the scrap value it really depends on the quality/hallmarking/age/setting etc.

Dont bother with a pawn shop, try an independent jeweller or local auction house.

Thanks for the advice and answers. No no stones just some chunky silver mens jewelry i picked up abroad about 10 years ago. I'f i'm right it's 925 silver and nice pieces as you said barmaid and would probably get more as i know someone would want and need them but time is of the essence though i don't want to be robbed by these these legal highwaymen

ten pounds an ounce seems like the usual price
and so £130 in a fire sale seems OK

( my mother used to pay £1 an ounce in the sixties
it has kept its value but not made a bomb

Peter Pendant £130 appears to be daylight robbery and after seeing EDDIE51's link i could get a potential £259.33 for the items so it might be better to go with his link but many thanks for the answer and taking time to read and answer my question.
