It looks as if kester has ignored all my previous suggestions, hints and answers and is still suggesting answers which don't match the letter count and take no account o the wordplay element.
You are still spelling Almondbury incorrectly; Darfield has too many letters; 24 I have responded several times[ 39- in what way do your suggestions bear any relation to the clue- Look at how I broke it down for you twice.
I answered that on last night's thread fiction-factory but it has been ignored. This is one of two threads copied and pasted this morning. One in crosswords and one in quizzes and puzzles. There was a third but it has vanished.
For 10 please can you explain the wordplay that would give Leeds, Routh or Dales as it looks to me as if the setter intends a much more straightforward answer using a common device used by crossword setters
For "21 - Confused wag ate pickled newt" one of your suggested answers makes perfect sense cryptically (anagram); the other suggestions for that one bear no relation to the clue. Hope this helps
For 24 think of a word for a system of social order in India and then add the letter that stands for a novice. That will give you one word and lead you to the answer
23 "Counter depression, be in debt to the last dollar!", think of a word for a counter in a pub, a word for a depression , a word relating to a debt and then use the "last dollar" clue to get the final letter.
