my daughter put cash card say eg BANK A .to draw money from another bank say BANK B. which she does regular.There was a fault with machine at bank A and machine kept card.As it didnt belong to that bank they wouldnt return it. She has had to travrl 5 miles to bank B to get money.Was bank A within there rights not to give her her card back if it had been there card they would have returned it straight away. thanks for any replies

Yes, that is standard practice. All cards from other banks have to be destroyed and the issuer has to order a new card.

Even if it had been their card I think they'd have destroyed rather than return it but otherwise I agree with sammy.
