Changing £5 To Coins - Bank?

Would any bank be willing to change a £5 note into coins?

Will they do it but only in amounts of £1?

I need:
1ps (x50/50p), 2ps (x150/£3), and 5ps(30/£1.50).

This is to create a tin of cash for a game to play with family.

I would think they'd be glad to get rid of change if they happen to have those amounts to hand, and if you've a bank account with them.
I don't know if they'd be faffing about with the odd amounts you're suggesting. They'd let you have a bag of each coin or nothing.

The reason I ask is there isn’t a HSBC local to me, so I’m popping into a few other banks I don’t have an account with.

The smoother I can make the request, the more likely they will hopefully be to oblige!

1ps and 2ps come in £1 bags. 5ps are in £5 bags.

You could do as spath suggested and go to an amusement arcade. You might get a nice cashier who's a bit bored and will count out the amounts you need. In general though, they only give change to people who are playing the machines.

I have a wee bank thing full of 1ps 2ps and 5ps I empty my purse every night then when it is full I exchange..last empty gave me £46 !

I’m afraid arcades aren’t a thing this far from the sea (Oxford).

I’m one of those millenials that tends to pay 99.9% of the time with a card, so never touches change!

I do the same with £2 coins..last empty yielded nearly £600 .. new tin nearly ready to open..bigger than last one..so will treat myself on something nice..has taken about 2 years to fill this time...definite dearth of them at the moment..cos I have them all ! lol..

The title suggests it. Changing your £5 notes to coins. I'd rather they kept it paper, fits better in my wallet.

OG - I think you've just invented the £5 coin; no-one else has mentioned them.
Incidentally the £5 note is just a promisory note and contains the words "Promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of 5 pounds" and is signed by the Governor of the Bank of England. That means that you can demand that someone gives you five pounds for it but I'm not sure exactly you'd go about it.
