Ex Owes me money

My Ex-Girlfriend owes me alot of money and has not paid up yet. I have filed a claim with the small claims court but have still heard nothing from her. I know that she is planning to move back abroad in the near future. If she moves abroad, will I still have any chance of reclaiming my money?

Frankly not really I'm afraid.She sounds as if she's deafing it out and the process here takes a while, so she's likely to disappear off into the great blue yonder before you get a chance to do much I imagine.I'd put it down to experience and move on unless it's into the millions or you feel you really have to pursue for your own personal peace of mind.Sorry.

You need to get a judgement first and then follow it up firmly by getting the bailiff to collect ASAP. Leave it and it will be too late.

"Moneyclaim Online" can be used to file a claim in the County Court (Costs about �60, but can be added to the amount being claimed) - Summonses are served within 48 hours of being received and you will receive a court hearing date in no time (Check with your local court to see what the scheduling time is for that area)

Bare in mind that District Judges have the right to make almost any order - these included ensuring that your ex stas domiciled in this country - thay can take their Passports!

Thanks for the help, I have already filed a claim with www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and she has until the 22nd to respond to the claim. I have not had any response yet, and I know she is planning on moving away but I don't know when. I know that if she doesn't respond by the 22nd I can force a "judgement by default" in which I can request the money from her that she owes me. I can only hope that she doesn't move away too soon cos all this would of been a waste of time and money.
