If every citizen of the United Kingdom put all their money into a very big hat,and then it was evenly distributed amongst the population.
How much would we all get?

We'd probably just get a bill to cover the nation's debt. :(
We'd get a lot of people furious that their hard earned money had gone to pay other folks debt.
And a lot of people spending like mad so that they were not losers next time round.
That's a difficult question because the value of some assets, say houses, depends on their desirability, their availability and peoples ability to pay for them - If you were to redistribute wealth in this way the value of these assets would change because you'd change people's ability to buy them

If it helps the Gross domestic product per person in the UK is about $30,000 US

As Ethel says you'd have to share the debt as well as the assets so it might not be such a good idea after all!
not enough!!!
Listen everybody. I'm already contributing to the salaries and perks of Tony Blair, Gordon Brown,John Prescott. and all the other fat cats who have far more money than I do, plus all the migrant workers who are claiming Tax Credits and sending them back to their own countries. Do you want me to give my last few quid to those who have run up high debts as well by living beyond their means as well? What's mine's my own. I've worked jolly hard to accumulate it. So, hands off !!!
