Hi

I am a newly self-employed sole trader. I am currently using my personal mobile phone for some business calls, which I would like to keep a record of and charge to the company. There is no point getting a second phone (1x personal and 1x business) because my total useage is not that high and i would pay more in double line rental.

What I want to know is how do I charge these calls to my company when the total bill is covered by my monthly payment plan - i.e the business calls say FREE on my bill because I dont go over my free minutes. Therefore, I dont know what to charge the company.

Include each bill with your business accounts but write on each one "-20% for personal calls" (or, of course, whatever percentage you think is reasonable). Then show the reduced figure under expenses in your business accounts.
