Im thinking of changing over to a water meter,as there is only two of us in our household compared to next door where there is a young family of five we all pay the same rate for our water,are there any pit falls in doing this and will it save money long term has anyone changed to a water meter and saved money thankyou

It's worth doing if you are economical with your water usage.

And you can always opt out and go back to non-metering provided you tell your water company within 12 months of going on the meter.

There are two in our household too & our water bill (Thames Water) halved when we switched to a meter.
We use a "normal" amount of water - dishwasher, washing machine etc

Thank you all for your replys i decided to phone welsh water and they have said it could half my bill from 500 to 250 it looks a good way to save money and you can pay monthly direct debit which they ajust if needed .

We changed sometime ago ( 2 person household) to meters plus going on StayWarm: at the moment we are quids in!.
