I am thinking of opening a new account with ING Direct and transferring some savings there from my HSBC account as you are not penalised when withdrawing money from ING.

Has anyone had dealings with ING and are they as good as they claim to be?

Thanks.

Never had any problems with them

They have a rival called ICICI (I think) who operate in the same sort of way but offer higher interest. Their reputation is mixed - they had a lot of startup problems which may have been fixed as you don't read about many compalints any more.
Been with ING for over a year with no problem. I also move money from INg to my bank account regularly and have never had anything go wrong.
Have had no problems with ING, but was a bit miffed when they reduced the interest rate some time ago when the bank rate hadn't been reduced. They were leading the market on interest rates at the time and I suspect after all their advertising they'd attracted their target amount of savings. Thought that was a bit sneaky, so moved most of my savings somewhere else as a protest.
