refused a loan
3 Answers
Can anybody shed light on why I have been refused a unsecured personal loan.
I applied with Northern Rock and I subscribe to Experian for online access to my credit report - I have 999 credit score out of 1000 and I have phoned Experian who have also told me my credit is good no reason for refusal on that. I have phoned Northern Rock who said I failed on there internal policy not my credit but would not divulge what this was.
Has anybody got any idea what the internal policy maybe to give me some kind of idea what I maybe failing on.

Your credit rating can be really good but if certain critira isnt met in house then it is normally refused. This can sometimes be for silly things like what is paid into your current account and how much leaves! It might have changed since i used to set them up.
Have you tried Egg.com? They have good loan rates and you just pay by DD you can check all the outstanding ammounts over the internet and see how much and when needs to be paid. It roughly takes about a week to set up.

it might actually be nothing to do with you.
All financial institutions have a certain amount that they want to lend that month. Once they have leant that amount, they may be satisfied and not want to lend anymore, and therfore refues all further applications.
Don't forget that credit is a privilege and not a 'right'.
