I recently, flippantly, applied for a loan following email solicitaion from a company called Wentworth Direct Finance, address: Freepost SEA 9712, Wrotham Road, Gravesend, Kent, DA130BR Tel 08704449800 Fax =: 0870 4449897. A reply by land mail said I had been accepted, and "Our brokers fee for processing your loan will be 49. Please send your fee etc etc and we shall process your loan details immediately. "Once we receive your loan approval form, the lending agent will contact you directly. Your consent signature will be required on all loan agreement documents. "Payment protection is available if required. "Please feel confident to use our loan service, we deal with more than 5 Million worth of loan applications weekly." Has anyone ever deal with this company or can anyone check up on them? This smells to me distinctly like a scam. Kindly yours, Trillipse

Please don't send these people your money.

Yes, they will do as they advertise - but you can do exactly the same for free.

And if you have such bad credit history that you cannot get a loan anywhere, they won't be able to get you one either. They will keep the 49.

Nice little earner
Hmm. Does "following email solicitaion" mean that they sent you an unsolicited email for commercial services? If so, they're breaking 'anti-spam' laws, which can hardly be a good recommendation!

Good recommendations are also hard to find (although not totally absent) here:

They will keep your money and you will not get a loan 90% of the time.
As above, they don't do loans, they search on your behalf for a loan, they will try and get a lender to lend to you and charge you 49 for the privilidge. They will not be able to get you a loan presumably because of bad credit rating, assuming that is why you are taking this path in the first place. Save your money.
Don't touch 'em with a barge pole! Wentworth Finance tucked us up a treat many years ago. A leopard doesn't change its spots, don't you know...
yeah i'm trying to recuperate my 49 at the moment...these people want sorting
i am also trying to re-coupe my 49.00 that i feel has been sucked up like ive been sucked in
This company took my brokers fee of 55, via phone number 08704232070, got a 10 second response! I then received one letter in reply from Parkfield Financial Services LTD in association with Ralph Marlon Ltd (Personal Loans). After a week with no further contact I tried Parkfield Finance but couldn't get an answer. I then got deluged by other scam companies, presumably they send out your details! I then tried Wentworth Direct phone number 08704449800 but got a message that I was 28 in the queue. Rang off and tried the payments hotline and phone was answered within 30 seconds, I said I was trying to get through to Head Office he said he couldn;t help and to keep trying the main phone number given, I explained my situtaion that I couldn't get through and he put the phone down. Later that day, again I was 30 in queue. I waited 30 minutes before I could speak to a operator, very professional lady. I asked what had happened to my application, she mentioned Parkfield Finance and said that was their sister company and I should ring them. Which I duly did, believe it or not I got through guite quickly and was told they couldn;t help me with my application and I should go back to Wentworth Direct Finance. I said but you are a sister company why can't you help? She said they were not. I asked for the address of Wentworth Fincnace Direct and was told 25 Ormside Way Redhill, Surrey, RH1 2LW. I rang Wentworth Direct Finance 08704449800 and waited for another 30 minutes, when I finally got to speak to someone I explained that Parkfield couldn;t help and she said they only had access to a small number of lenders and she would resubmit my application to another larger group. Three weeks later still no response, I rang 08704449800 and waited for 30 minutes when the music stopped playing there was silence and after 30 seconds the phone went dead. I rang again and waited 30 minutes when the music stopped I kept saying hello? hello? after 10 seconds the line went dead.
Hi all ,I`m afraid i too recently paid Wentworth Finance 55 pounds on the assumption they were going to find me a loan. Also had the letter from Parkfield Financial Services filled in the forms and returned them on 30 June ,but as yet i have heard nothing from them. You can apparently write to Wentworth Finance and ask for the fee back if you do not get a loan ,so that is my next step.I found this site by chance when i typed in Parfield Financial services in my search engine. And i could ill afford to lose 55 pounds.

Please note 'Wentworth Direct Finance' are by no means associated with our firm 'Wentworth Financial Services Ltd' we have had a number of emails, phone calls and ombudsman complaints regarding 'Wentworth Direct Finance' and the firm is nothing to do with us.
Wentworth Financial services do offer loans via our partners gateway2finance and we DO NOT charge a broker fee for this service we advice all our clients not to pay a broker fee for an unsecured personal loan. For more information on our loans visit our website http://www.wentworthfs.co.uk/loans
I was told by Wentworth Direct Finance that they could find me a loan of 10,000. I was asked to give4 my debit card details but no money would be taken until after I return the form they were going to send me. This was called a contract. They sent me the form, but I on checking my bank statement found they had taken a fee of £59 without my permission. I tried to ring them and they are disgusting bunch of turds. Their MD is a Michael Evans. When you ring customer services number. It never answers. They are con merchants and I have told the police. The man is a Lady Veg.
I reported these Lady Veggies to the police and will show them this page.
The man is a CU NT

Wentworth Direct is a company that should not exist and this group is all about people who have been robbed by them and for all of us to com to gather and express our feelings because no one seems to listen. To share ideas of how to get out £59 back.

Good luck all ;)
Well I am pretty much in the same situation with Wentworth, I was told that their is no upfront fee and I don't even need a guarantor. All I need is to prove that I am earning above 800 a month. But they took £59 from my account after the first call and after a week I got an loan application form which clearly states I can get the loan if I can find a guarantor.
As usual, no one is answering any phone calls, does any one know what can be done to get the money back?

The same thing just happened to me, i applied online and with in seconds i got a phonecall from a man who sounded genuine and he told me that my loan had been accepted and to pay a fee of £59 upfront, i then like a idiot i gave him my card details, luckily for me i dont get paid untill next week so i had no money in my account. After i had got off the phone, within seconds i checked up on this and realised i had made the biggiest mistake ever! i am so fuking ruffled around the boa, i hope they get caught!! Fluffing THIEVING BASTARDS!! :@
i also got 69 pounds taken out my bank from wentworth direct finance, i did not apply for loan it was a search engine i done on internet, tryed calling them and cant get anyone to speak to, can any one help me as im wanting my money back
and im not stopping until i do
hi windyhills - I have recently applied and been charged the £69.00. Anyway, I have this morning spoken to the Financial Ombudsman, tel 0800 023 4567 and they have offered to write to the company on my behalf. If I was you I would do the same. Good luck.
I too have been ripped off by this - so called - company. I contacted them last Tuesday and they took my card details saying I would have my paperwork through by Friday & the loan by the following Friday (we go on hols on the Saturday) when no paperwork had arrived today i called them on the customer service number & was kept on hold for over 1 1/2 hrs only to be cut off when I reached number 1. i then called the payment line which amazingly was answered after only 3 rings to be told that they were waiting me to call back and would take the money today with the paperwork being here for next wednesday & loan 10 days after that. This is the point I stoopidly realised the whole thing was a con, luckily they can't get any money from my account as its empty till friday (quick transfer via internet banking) & my bank have said they will change my card for me so hopefully I have got away with it but I totally agree that these type of companies that prey on people with bad credit should be closed down & the bloke who runs it should be hung from his fingertips so he can never dial or type a phone number again
