coinage question

Does anyone know a British coin that had no sovereigns head on it. The title is W.C.C.

Help settle an argument pse.

Surely there's some confusion here?

W.C.C. seems to refer to the Winston Churchill Crown. That was the first British coin to feature the head of a commoner. However Churchill's image appeared as well as that of the Queen (on opposite faces of the crown), not instead of it.

We considered the Churchill Crown but the issue is that there were or was a coin without the Sovereign's head.

Spinks have narrowed the field today for us by saying it was almost certainly a 'Commonwealth' coin, not a modern commonwealth e.g. Oz, but a Cromwellian period coin which numismatically is known as the commonwealth coin period.

So it is likely that the cc is commonwealth coin - but as for the W?
