2) (sales promotion definition) A cash payment made to salespeople at the retail level to influence them to promote and sell the manufacturer's brand or a specific item in the line rather than a competitive item.
Otherwise known as push money
- Cash or other incentives paid directly to retail salespeople by the manufacturer to encourage sales of the manufacturer's brand over competitive brands. It also is used to influence the retail sale of specific products in a line.
Mostly used when selling/dealing in American currency (I think??)
