HI my brother-in-law is splitting up from his wife and there house is being repossessed. She has always spent a lot more than they could afford but all of there debts are in his name as she is blacklisted, he just seemed to sign anything for her. Is there any way he can find out exactly how much he owes, as he has no idea the extent of all the debt.

Needs a credit check. Can usually get a free 30-day one, though you must remember to cancel it for it to be free. It will show everything in his name and what he owes

Try Experian or Equifax (or Google "credit report")
