Can anyone explain why it is that on a table of bank accounts from HSBC (where they list different facilities for each account) it states that a basic bank account comes with either a cash card or a solo card, but in the brochure with all the information about bank services it says in bold, that a basic bank account does not have a debit card faciliy? im very confused!

With the best of intentions, it's still possible to go overdrawn with *any* debit card so if a bank is offering an account to people who wouldn't otherwise qualify for a bank acount then I don't think they'll be in a hurry to hand out debit cards.
