I would like to order some items for delivery, but I do not want them delivering to my home address. Can anyone suggest how I can get items delivered without revealing my home address - maybe a my to collect locally?

Most websites give the option to select a different delivery address so maybe you could have something posted to a friend/family member. However they will always ask for the address that the card you use to pay is registered to, which is presumably your home address.
You could have problems paying if you are doing this online - they will want your card billing address, and may not deliver anywhere else than that.
some stores, like M&S / Boots / Tesco.com will offer a "collect in store" option. You would still have to reveal your home address as it needs to match your payment method
You can get a PO box number, but lots of companys wont deliver to these because of the risk of fraud.

Can I ask why you want to do this? It may help to try to come up with a solution.

It is the risk of fraud that drives a lot of these processes and in fact there are only some online stores that will allow you to have the parcels delivered to an address other than the one given as your cardholder address. Boots, Amazon and maybe debenhams will do that.

Sorry guys, I should re-phrase the question:
Someone wants to send something to me, but I do not want to give my home address at this stage, simply for my own peace of mind. I'm not paying for anything with a credit card, so the question of fraud is not an issue.
Thanks again
Most sites wil deliver anywhere but they'll want your card billing address too.
then I guess you could set up a mail box with Royal mail or just say to them that you are never in so could they sent it to your work. Or get them to leave in in the left luggage and leave the key somewhere for you! I guess you wouldn't want to collect it either!
A PO Box costs you - I know, I used to have one. If it's a one-off, do you work - could you have it delivered to your work address?
do you know the people in a local shop? like a newagents ot something? ive had mail dropped off there before
Doesn't Poste Restante work anymore.

Copied from www today

Poste Restante

If you're travelling but want to stay in touch, you can take your letterbox with you. People can address mail to you and send it to any UK Post Office™ * and some main post offices in larger towns abroad. You can use the service for up to three months in any one UK town for any letters.

* The Poste Restante service is subject to operational capability.

BUT what about parcels?? Don't ask but of course caz will be tralling.
