This person (old flatmate) used all my ID and got 2 credit cards in my name, re-registered my car in their name and stole the rent money.. oh they were fantastic to live with !
This happened to my brother a few years ago.
He lived in my flat for a few years and then after him I had a tenant who stole old post belonging to my brother. He ran up loans totalling about 20,000 plus and got huge amounts of HP. It came to light when he was caught trying to obtain foreign currency and the police informed my brother. It took him a few years to sort everything out.
Nicky, there are quite a few message boards where you will find people who are victims of ID theft. A search on google should do it. Here are 2 useful links - the first is a new forum where you can place a post, the second tell you how to deal with ID theft.
