Why do so many people leave the house on a morning without having breakfast? I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing, it's sets me up for the day. The excuse that they don't have time is a load of rubbish, just get out of bed earlier.
I really don't fancy eating when I first get up, and it actually makes my wife sick if she eats first thing.
Coupla fags and three coffees and that's me ready for the day. We have lunch at about 2:30 and that's early enough for me.
I don't eat breakfast. I get the kids' brekkie ready, and whilst they're eating, I get myself ready. I would have time, if I got up at 6.30 rather than 6.45, but I'd prefer the fifteen minutes in bed.
I generally don't eat until about 2/3. Just lots and lots (and lots) of juice!
I have a yoghurt and a banana, on the hoof. I don't need anything else. What do you have, dave 50? do you get it yourself, or does someone get it ready for you?
When I worked I couldn't face breakfast at silly o clock, I would rather be on my way to work so a quick cup of coffee and making a slice of toast for the family usually happened. I had a break about 10am when the tea trolley came. Now I've retired I love my breakfast coffee, bacon and tomato sarnie or cereal and toast. I tell them off for not having breakfast now.
I don't like cereal, I prefer not to eat too much bread as it disagrees with me and cannot be bothered cooking myself a fry up, nor am I hungry of a morning. Consequently I rarely eat or want breakfast, irrespective of what time I get up.
I don't always eat lunch and if I do I will snack in the evening instead of preparing a proper meal.
This is what suits me and I wouldn't criticise others if they chose a similar path.
I had to eat breakfast when i had to take pain killers first thing in the morning and I found it very difficult, I am not generally hungry until about 9am. Mind you, when I stopped taking the pain killers and went back to old ways, the first few days I was hungry by 8am. Now I'm used to not eating until 9am again and the idea of eating at 7:15am is not pleasant to me.
I should have answered the question...
I'm not an early eater either. But I force myself only because I'm on my feet rushing around from the moment I get into work-so my body needs the energy...but my mouth certainly doesn't.
I think the change of working patterns has something to with it. Gone are the days when you started work at 9, I'm expected to be at my desk by 8 at the latest. If I got up early enough to eat breakfast I might as well work a nightshift instead.
