The Missing Shoe Saga

Being a lovely day here, I suggested that my mater should take an early bath, not least as the power distribution company were coming over to lop branches away from the main cable, but that we could raid Waitrose and go for lunch.
All very well to after Waitrose and the mater reasonably compos mentis to that point. Drove from Truro over to a lovely country pub where I met Lady J, dubirdie and Boaty last Christmas, the King's Arm at Ruan Lanihorne, near Tregony and home to the author, Philip Marsden.
Anyway, pulled in and got out, then realised that mater had no shoes on - thoughts that she had them on here as the ground is fairly rough here, and that she had walked with ease across Waitrose's park and around the store. Had she got into the car, taken them off for some bizarre reason while I was putting the cart away and left them outside the car door - as one does.....
Things went downhill from there - we have had a UTI and it's under treatment....she didn't eat and then, on leaving, I suggested waiting at the entrance and I would bring the car up.
She refused to get in, saying that she was waiting for her father.....I had to get out, lift her up and fairly forcibly lead her around and get her in - to then be confronted with a fair about of verbal aggro.
Decided to stop at Waitrose, feeling like a right Wally asking the desk if they have found a pair of shoes...no joy there, yet. Come out to find her trying to get out of the car - I had parked in the drop off and one of the staff was effectively blocking her, (her Mum had the big A and she recognised the 'symptoms' .....)
Apparently, I had worked in the coat industry - well, that was news for me. That was what was coming out of her along with some of the aggro. I thanked staff woman, closed the passenger door and went around to the driver side, the mater opening hers again. Back again and closed it, she tries a third time, the woman saying that she would close it - in fact, I leaned across and closed it, once in the car.....
Pulled away, up onto the main road, right for Newquay, the verbal still going and then, by the park and ride lights, she tried grabbing me......well the verbal back I think shocked her, a suggestion that I was driving down into Truro to the police station, or a policeman, to have her arrested for trying what she had done and that she was seriously endangering others......
Back now, peaceful, tea now and more of the anti-biotic in her. ......Jeez But has anybody seen any shoes out there? Still at a loss, as a pair are missing from here.
Maybe a chapter in the book to go alongside 'The Great Dental Escape.'
