I have not long been moved in to a new house. I am on my own with my daughter and my brother has refitted the kitchen, put the tiles up and allsorts. I would like to buy him a pressie, a personal one, to say thank you as I know he won't accept any money - any ideas?
just buy a thankyou card for him but in your message you write in it, tell him that you'll donate one of your kidneys if ever needs one. this way you need only spend about 1 on a card but with the promise of a very generous gift (which hopefully he'll never need!)
Don't know what to get him as don't know him, but do know how much you have saved yourself, 1,690 + VAT because that is how much a friend has been quoted for fitting a kitchen, which is tiny, and that does not include the units. I am not suggesting you spend that on a present, but you could take him out to dinner, at least. Does he do that same job for fellow ABers, after all we are all one big family, aren't we?
Maybe you and your daughter could make something for him, you could go to one of those ceramic studios and paint a tile or something you know he'd like, together. Or make a frame and put a photo of you two in your new kitchen in it.
Wish me luck on Monday, folks, I am giving blood platelets at Birmingham on Monday. For the uninitiated this process is a bit like giving blood, but a full 75 minutes instead of the usual 5. Yes, I would give a kidney to a family member, but would also give it to a total stranger as well if they needed it. Would other ABers do the same
well think about it ? he likes d.i.y so what comes to mind ? ... TOOLS ... every d.i.y person loves tools and he will use it and every time he uses it he will remember were it come from ... and not a cheap crap on ok.. power tools i think .......good luck ....
