I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's condition , reception, but it it's any help to you, yes, she could well recover from this horrible problem. The doctors are doing the right things for her, as it can take several weeks before you see any improvement, but recovery is sometimes rapid when it starts - which is something to hope for, isn't it? Best of luck to you all - x.
Thank you Ice.Maiden for your kind answer. I seem to have all the problems the odds are always against me. If its one in 1000 you can be sure it will be something to do with my life. My sister has a PHD she has excellent job and houses all over the world. I would trade every thing in to see her back to her normal self. If I had one wish That would be to see her better.
Life is for the liveing and if you can not remember who you are and who your family is and youlost all contact with your life then thats not liveing.
The doctors said the brain cells have been crushed so badly with the swelling that the memory and speach part of her brain has been damaged.
It just shows human body is just like a machine. Doctors said she has somesort of virous that attacks the brain its when your emmune system attack you in error. thats whats happened.
she must been very down and low in to catch this again one in 1000 chances. and she was the one.
pray for her please. for someone who's called Ice maiden you have a warm heart.
Thank you

so sorry to hear about your sister it must be terrible for you to see her like that. Try and have faith in the doctors they will be treating her the best they can but it sounds like it will take her a long time to recover. Can you show her family photos and play music to her etc. If she can't speak properly what about writing? I am sure with all your support she will get better it just won't happen overnight thats all. Maybe the hospital staff can put you in touch with support groups who can give you more info? Take care and don't forget to look after yourself too, you won't be able to care for your sister if you are not strong.
Reception - I truly hope that your sister makes a good recovery. You're right - what she has, is a virus, and it can rob a person of their speech, and the sorts of things that you're seeing at the moment.
The brain needs to rest - hence recovery can take a while, but the doctors are treating her in the correct manner, and all you can do is wait.
I'll be thinking of you, and meanwhile, tigwig's right. Keep strong for your sister. I'm sure that as time passes, you'll see a good recovery - x
