hm...if i was going to a party for someone i'd give 18 (in 1 coins all stuck to a card! ha), so maybe a similar idea? perhaps 180, 118 or something like 50 split into 18 different coins
My mother gives 50 for 18th's and 100 for 21st's, but it all depends on what you can afford. There are some cards designed especially to hold coins on the front. You could buy one of those, and give her the notes inside.
your mistake was askin ....i think gift of 25 is more than enought ...after all its the thought that counts not the amount... and you are the granparent not the mother / father big money comes from them if you give her 25 ..or ..50 ... or 100.. it will make no diffrence to her it will be spent before you could say ...happy birthday .lol .. 25 is more than enought
hi im nearly 16 and for my 16th am gettin a 100 but for my 18th the money will go down. anything thats suits you to give as a gift i'm sure no matter how much you give her she will be happy that u gave her some thing.
Never having had the pleasure of being a parent (or a grandparent, obviously) I would not know this for sure, but have been told never to give children money as a gift. Was told it was too impersonal, and would "put a value" on your relationship with them. Not sure I agree with this, but if you get them a gift instead I think it has a "thought value" attached.
Depends on what you can afford, and your granddaughter will know this. Money will always go down well, but if it is something to remember, then something personal like jewellery would be better. You could always ask her parents, but If you have loads of money, you could consider using your inheritance tax allowances.................
