Sharing A Bath With Children
I remember when I was tiny I would get in the bath with my dad - till I was about 3 or 4.
Buut I was talking to a work colleague yesterday and she was saying that she still has a bath with her son, and he is 10. I thought that was quite odd, or is it just me??

my 5 year old grandson will now no longer let me anywhere near him when he's getting his pants on lol! -he says 'no granma I do it myself now' and will cover up his bits! -and its not mum or dad that has instilled that cos I know they are very open about nudity. Children have a sense of 'decency' and this poor lad must be very confused -his mother needs to be told
My son, his wife and their two kids shared a bath until Sara was about 4 (Yes they have a huge bathtub). The kids still share a bath but the adults shower I think.
My next door neighbour shares a bed with her 10 year old grandson. Think he might get bullied at school if it was known but each to his own.

@maggiebee - I think sharing a bed is not in the same league as a bath really. i am really concerned to the authenticity of this post for two reasons - one, a 10 year old boy will have a mind of his own and could easily refuse - if he feels obliged, or even made to have a bath with his mother, then this is child abuse. Secondly again , a child of 10 is quite capable of taking the top off a sippy cup and drinking the contents so what sort of story is that? either this mother is abusing this child or the story has been made up.
Whoa hold on Mags, let's be careful here - every family has it's own dynamic and is for no one else to jump to such conclusions.
If this is how the family has always run maybe the boy sees it as a natural thing (we do not have to agree) and maybe the 'sippy cup' is a sports bottle, they sure save on spillages.

Some people just don't see nudity as an issue. What would you say to the naturalists? Should they not hug their children because they like being nude and it might come across as inappropriate.
Every part of our bodies have a function, they are not just sexual organs, and some people need to realise that before accusing anyone of child abuse.
